NOVEMBER 2009 = Two (2) EVENTS!
(One early: Nov 8; one late: Nov 29)
(NO EVENT IN OCTOBER)

NOVEMBER 8, 2009

ELT Expo (Nov. 8)
JALT Sendai will co-host the annual Tohoku ELT Expo with ETJ at Tohoku Fukushi University, Station Campus Building.

This is an All Day event. Lunch will be available on site by special arrangement. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE LUNCH AS WE NEED TO ARRANGE WITH THE KIND CATERERS OR CAFETERIA STAFF. PLEASE CONTACT Pres. Ken Schmidt at jaltsenpres@gmail.com to let him know if you want lunch on site or not. We need a headcount for lunches PRIOR to the event. THANK YOU.

Please check out the attached flier (ELT Expo 09.pdf), consider participating as a presenter (great chance), and post and pass along the flier to colleagues, students and friends. We’re looking forward to a great event.

WHAT IS IT LIKE?
Usually, 3-4 speakers are giving simultaneous presentations in different rooms. There are also MANY book publishers on site showing their wares. It is a great mini-conference type of event to meet people and network, to learn from various presenters, and to puruse new teaching materials and textbooks for possible use in your classes. Many times, very interesting and helpful new books are found from some smaller or lesser known publishers as well as from Major publishers who usually sell B2B (Business to Business) to Foreign Schools in Japan (K-12, etc.) rather than to standard Eikaiwas or Japanese universities. Many of these books are not seen in bookstores in Japan. Nice chance for some new finds to spark up your classes from new angles!!

Participants will prepare their own mind maps and be shown various communicative exercises to use with students across all four main skills.
