Call for Papers for the 8th Annual Pan-SIG Conference that will be held on
Saturday and Sunday, May 23rd and 24th, 2009 at Toyo Gakuen University,
Nagareyama Campus, in Chiba. We welcome presentation submissions until
February 15th, 2009. We are delighted to announce our two plenary speakers,

(CUE), Extensive Reading (ER), Gender Awareness in Language Education
(GALE), Life Long Language Learning (LLL), Materials Writers (MW), Other
Language Educators (OLE), Pragmatics (PRAG), Study Abroad (SA) and Testing
& Evaluation (TEVAL) Special Interest Groups; and supported by the CALL SIG and the West Tokyo, Tokyo and Yokohama Chapters of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT).
Professional Development Scholarship for Pan-SIG Conference 2009
The 2009 Pan-SIG conference organizing committee is pleased to announce a Professional Development Scholarship for the upcoming conference. The focus of this scholarship is to offer one member of each of the co-sponsoring SIGs a full conference fee waiver. This to help promote professional development among SIG members who do not have access to research funding present a paper at the conference and publish a proceedings paper. If you would like to apply for this scholarship please see the application guidelines and criteria below. Deadline is Feb 15, 2009.
Application guidelines and criteria:
In order to be eligible for this Professional Development Scholarship, application materials should include:
1. A written attestation that the candidate does not have access to research/travel funds from another source such as an employer.
2. The candidate is a registered member of the particular SIG the candidate is applying to present for.
3. The candidate submits all documents requested in the guidelines for submission on the conference websitehttp://pansig.org/2009/call.php.

4. A commitment to give the presentation at the PanSIG conference 2009 and write a proceedings paper to be published in the conference proceedings publication, upon acceptance by the editors.
